The Bishop State Community College Foundation awarded scholarships to 20 students for the 2018 fall semester and the 2019 spring semester. Congratulations to each recipient! The criteria used in making a final decision were based on GPA and need. The Board of Directors continues to encourage donors and sponsors to contribute to the Foundation can continue to make these opportunities available. Their hope is to one day be able to present a scholarship to each applicant who has clearly demonstrated a need as well as academic success. This academic year there were two students, Kameron L. Thomas and Nigiral T. Faust who were eligible to receive the American Gas Scholarship both semesters. Kyle A. Durant is the first recipient of the Alabama Trucking Association scholarship. “Second-semester students enrolled in the Diesel Technology program who maintains a minimum GPA of 2.75 are eligible to apply,” says Tim Frazier, Director of the Alabama Trucking Association. Additional scholarships will be awarded in Fall 2019. Be sure to monitor the scholarship page of the Bishop State website or the Bishop State Foundation page for the availability of scholarship applications and the deadline.
